Traveling with Pets
Carriage of pets With the exception of dogs trained to lead the blind and assist the deaf, the conveyance of domestic animals such as dogs, cats and birds in the aircraft cabin is at the discretion of the captain.
Local regulations require that animals travel in appropriate travel crates or cages, whether in the cabin or hold compartment. Animals and travel crates will be weighed and charged at the prevailing excess baggage rates, unless the crate necessitates the removal of a passenger seat, in which case the passenger fare will be charged.
Restricted Dog Breeds
As per Legal Notice 39 of 2003, Made by the Governor under section 98 of the Customs Ordinance, the following breeds of dogs shall not be permitted entrance into the Turks & Caicos Islands. - Akita
- Any breed of Bulldog
- Any breed of Mastiff
- Any pit bull including the American Staffordshire terrier, the pit bull terrier, the Staffordshire bull terrier and a mixed-breed dog which has any pit bull lineage.
- Bandog
- Beauceron
- Canary dog, or Presa Canario
- Doberman Pinscher
- Dogo Argentino
- Fila Brazilliero
- Japanese Tosa
- Jindo
- Kuvasz
- Rhodesian Ridgeback
- Roman Fighting Dog
- Rottweiler
- South African Boerboel
- A dog which appears to have been bred for fighting
